Waterslides

Saturday, February 5, 2010
Yes, I am aware this is not a water slide course, but it's as close as I can get.
I went to a waterpark with a friend today...So. Much. FUN! We did all the
slides and had a blast! We were swimming/tubing for about nine hours...I'm
so tired.

Quote Of The Day:
"I have never seen a river that I could not love. Moving water...
has a fascinating vitality. It has power and grace and
associations. It has a thousand colors and a thousand shapes, yet
it follows laws so definite that the tiniest streamlet is an exact
replica of a great river." ~ Roderick Haig-Brown

50 Word Story:
Splish Slide Splash
Two girls running up the stairs, carrying a large tube. They stand in line,
waiting for their turn. As they reach the top, they take off down the slide,
laughing and screaming all the way. Into the splash pool, grins on their faces.
Up they go to do it again.

Summer Feet

Friday, February 4, 2011
These are my feet. Whoopee. I keep going back to the theme of summer...
I'm tired of bad snow and coldness. Summer is just...bliss. Only a few more
months. Oh who am I kidding, summer isn't coming anytime soon. *Sigh* All I
can do is blog...

Quote Of The Day:
"People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when
they're happy." ~ Anton Chekhov

50 Word Story:
Tough as Leather
Summer feet running across the lawn, the grass tickling toes. Down to the
beach barefoot, feeling the waves and the warm sand. Through the muddy
bank of the stream and into the cool water of the river, crossing stepping
stones. These are summer feet - tough, warm, and ready for adventure.

Definitions

Thursday, February 3, 2011
I took this shot real quick tonight, as I had no other way of expressing the
dictionary. This is our dictionary...it's quite old and probably out of date, but
it works. I've always wondered - what if there's a typo in the dictionary? I
guess nobody would know...To go with today's theme, here's the definition of
definition:
1/ The act of defining or making definite, distinct, or clear.
2/ The formal statement of the meaning or significance of a word, phrase, etc.
3/ The condition of being definite, distinct, or clearly outlined.
4/ Optics: Sharpness of the image formed by an optical system.
5/ Radio and Television: The accuracy of sound or picture reproduction.

Quote Of The Day:
"Dictionary - opinion expressed as truth in alphabetical
order." ~ John Ralston Saul

50 Word Story:
Indefinable
It was as though the dictionary was thrown at her every day. Words that
"categorized" or "defined" her were thrown harshly into the air, bombarding
her ears. The truth was nobody really knew how to define her. In reality, she
had no definition, at least, not in the common dictionary.

We all Scream for Ice Cream!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Another shot of my little doggies, this time enjoying the slight remains of
some vanilla ice cream...Sorry for not posting this yesterday, lots is going on,
both these posts will be brief.

Quote Of The Day:
"Stressed spelled backwards is 'desserts.'" ~ Author Unknown

50 Word Story:
Sweet, Sticky Mess
Hot summer sun that hangs over the world like an incubator. Two siblings
running down the beach, sticky fingers and faces. They carry a nearly empty
ice cream tub, the chocolate goodness smeared in their hair, coating their
faces, down their shirts. Nothing completes a summer day like ice cream.

Missing Summer

Tuesday, February 1, 2011
Happy February! It's been so sunny lately, I a) don't know what to do about
it, and b) really wish it was summer. I've actually thought that it felt like
summer. I wore shorts to walk to the library yesterday...not exactly the same
when it's not 85 degrees outside. I really want summer. Really bad. But on
another note, I want good snow. Humph. So today is a sunny post to break
up the cold weather and hopeless pictures. ;)

Quote Of The Day:
"Palm trees, ocean breeze, salty air, sun kissed hair. That
endless summer, take me there." ~ Author Unknown

50 Word Story:
Winter Summertime
Cold air nipping at her nose and brisk winds swirling in her hair. Winter was
ever present with sleet and grey skies. The sun seemed to be making shy, rare
appearances, not nearly often enough. But then one day, the sun beaming on
her face... a small splash of summer.
