Falling to Pieces...

Tuesday, April 5, 2011
Another sandcastle! Yay! I really enjoyed this one...If you couldn't tell,
it's a man made out of puzzle pieces, quiet a few of which are missing.

Quote Of The Day:
"Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle."
~ Lewis Carroll

50 Word Story:
Uniformly Unique
One thousand puzzle pieces scattered around, each a different shape,
each a different combination of colors. Some have straight edges, some are
rounded. Some have fancy script while others have dancing animals. No two
pieces are exactly the same, yet they all fit together somehow to make a
masterpiece.

The line "some are rounded" reminded me of this conversation I had with a
friend. She was ranting playfully about being "well rounded" and she goes
"Well, what if I don't WANT to be well rounded!? WHY CAN'T I
BE SQUARE?!" Ahahaha. ♥ you, D....

Board Games

Monday, April 4, 2011
I. Love. Board games. For half the day on Saturday all I did was play board
games with my parents. I love that we have a whole closet full of them. They're
such a great way to pass the time...The other day...maybe that was Saturday as
well...(you can tell that I'm definitely on vacation) I was with some friends at a
cafe and we were playing a game called Anomia. I haven't laughed that hard in
a long time...

Quote Of The Day:
"Cards are war, in disguise of a sport." ~ Charles Lamb

50 Word Story:
Fun and Board Games
Cards are scattered across the floor - five different suits, two of each kind.
Game pieces meander about each other's boards and cribbage pegs play leap
frog in the holes of the board. Puzzle pieces click together in harmony, dice
roll, their dotted numbers spinning. Oh what fun and board games.

Road Trip

Sunday, April 3, 2011
Went into the city today to sample bagels, of all things. We passed by this
really neat old Ford and so I grabbed a shot. :)

Quote Of The Day:
"Half the fun of the travel is the aesthetic of lostness."
~ Ray Bradbury

50 Word Story:
Lost is Bliss
The music's cranked up loud as the car speeds down the highway, the fuzzy
dice hanging from the rear view window swaying. A map lies across the
passenger's lap, discarded. Who cares where this highway goes? The car's
going out of town to somewhere new, somewhere spectacular. It's adventure
time.

Alpaca Kisses

Saturday, April 2, 2011

How about those silly alpacas? Today I went and visited my friend who is
staying on an alpaca farm to take care of about twenty some alpacas while
their owner is at an alpaca show. Alpacas are funny animals...in the sense of
looks as well as personality. I swear, all they do is stand around in a group
and make a sort of "meeeah" noise. They are very curious and gentle, yet
some give you the stink eye...I wasn't there at feeding time, but it's said
that they'll chase you for oats...

Quote Of The Day:
"Keep your friends close, but your alpacas closer..."
~ Author Unknown

50 Word Story:
Not your Common Farm Animal
Curious eyes peer out from behind curly hair resembling dreadlocks. Two
toed hooves pace the ground, eager yet ready to take flight. Fuzzy noses
twitch, trying to smell tasty oats or fresh hay. Long, fringed legs and feathered
ears that could be a rabbit's. There's nothing quite like an alpaca.

You Know, I've Decided....

Friday, April 1, 2011
I really don't have any ideas and it's getting to be a hassle to blog every day
of the week...I'm thinking of cutting back just to weekends...
Just kidding! Ahaha, that was lame. That was the only thing I've done to
support April Fool's Day... *Sigh.* Ah well, I'm still blogging every day 'till I
reach 365...Those are roller skates if you couldn't tell.

Quote Of The Day: (I know it's not roller skating...)
"I like to skate on the other side of the ice." ~ Stephen Wright

50 Word Story:
That's Just How I Roll
Worn out laces running through cracked, worn leather. A finger flicks
the bright red wheels and they spin smoothly, just waiting to go. Soaring
across the pavement...praying that balance holds out. Skinned knees should be
a thing of the past. Cool wind in fingers, legs racing. This is a skater.
