Hello There

Sunday, November 13, 2011
I haven't posted in a while...I'm not sure where this blog is going. Island Fever and I have yet to discuss what is happening with our weekly challenges. Life is slow at the moment...all school and school and school. Photo-wise, there's not much out there. The last of the leaves have all but fallen from the trees and it's starting to rain more frequently. On another note, it's National Novel Writing Month. I do realize that I will not be able to reach the intended word count of 50,000 words, but I'm simply using the official month as a means of seriously writing.

Stay tuned. :)

Challenge #18: Colors of Fall

Sunday, October 30, 2011
My assignment for health class this upcoming week was to cook something using a whole grain. I chose the grain quinoa and this is the product...It is a quinoa stuffed acorn squash with onions, walnuts, figs, goat cheese, and arugula. I can see this being cooked again in the near future...

Challenge #17: Neon

Sunday, October 23, 2011
I took this shot tonight while driving around town with my dad. I love my town at night in the winter because all the old style neon is lit up down the main street. One of my favorite neon signs is the one outside the theatre.

Challenge #16: Motion

Sunday, October 16, 2011
I didn't have a plan for this week's challenge. I was originally going to try to get a shot of cars on the highway using a low shutter speed so they were blurred, but I didn't get a chance to actually set that up. Today my parents and I were walking through a park in Seattle and I noticed these guys on a the swings. After asking if I could take their picture for my photo blog, one of them proceeds to do a flip. It was pretty cool...I'm not sure if I got motion as well as I'd wanted to, but oh well. It's a neat picture.

Challenge #15: Weather

Sunday, October 9, 2011
I really enjoy taking these shots with quotes...a few weekends ago that was pretty much all I did. I wish I still had the time for it. Bad weather has started to set in...argh. Oh well, at least the leaves are changing and the trees will be pretty. Don't forget to dance in the rain. :)
